Fancypants Cinema - A free weekly program of local films, videos, works-in-progress
and whatnot is held every Tuesday evening in the Lounge at N.3rd
(located at 3rd and Brown streets)
and unlike other independent screening venues we don't pre-screen your work,
we just screen it!
we don't pre-judge 'em, we just judge 'em (with the crowd).
But at least it screens.
assuming the projector works.
odds are it will.
We also ask the filmmakers to speak about their work, before or after the film
because the audience likes to connect to the art through the artist.
and it allows for better beer sales too.

Incredibly this event is always FREE!

At Fancypants we find that the hopeful, avant-garde film auteur mixes and
mingles with
the jaded, professional film producer pretty well, indeed they may just be
the same!
(This program is on it's 3rd year, so we must be doing something right).
BUT nothing compares to simply arriving, hanging, drinking, chatting,
arguing and being involved!
so do it!
VHS and DVD only (please) and check em kids!
(certain DVD's are reluctant to play on basic players)
also remember to keep 'em short (under 15 minutes) PLEASE
it's also a bar, after all, attention spans are finite.

Screenings start at 10pm (esque) and we keep going until someone throws us
out
(it's usually Tom)
But by that point everyone is so filled with the milk of human kindness
(by that I mean burboun) that it doesn't matter we're being thrust out into
the night
because inside, we're all warm and fuzzy!

N.3RD also keeps it's (diverse) menu on until midnite, and the food is
award-winning gastro-pub fare
(courtesy of Chef: Peter Dunmire)
The bar also boasts an excellent selection of beer and wine as well!

Bartended by: Christa D'Agastino (of Philly's Peek A Boo Revue infamy)
and Hosted by Scott R. Johnston
This event is supported by a generous grant* from the Mark Bee and Tom Bee
Foundation
*meaning the host's beer tab.
